The birth of my son has been a life changing experience; the circumstances that led to his birth are nothing but mind boggling and miraculous. Living life will always be our greatest teacher and yet the simple things in life have always brought a smile to my face, like the dark cloudy days in the month of November announcing the arrival of winter or sunrises. Reem (my Mrs.) and I have been blessed with wonderful families who have always been there when we needed them. The other day I realized what it meant when people said life revolves 360 degrees and at some point in time you always start at the beginning, although I am sometime away from that event, I felt it when I saw Ayden being pampered my mother and Godmother whom I lovingly call “Aunty Irene” there in front of my eyes was a woman who meant the world to me just like my mother. In my early years as a little boy we lived in a joint family and thank God for those experiences, I would never have been so close to my family and valued every moment I spent with them if it had not been for those years. Mom was a working woman and in her absence it would be aunty Irene who would take care of feeding me, bathing me, putting me to sleep, comforting me when I would cry and at times even discipline me. I could really never differentiate between her and mom and I’m glad I had them both. Today she was there for my son just like she had been there for me all those years ago. Ayden is truly blessed for he has the most priced treasure “Family”.
